The castle was erected by Izumi’s master and father figure, Fukuro Muramoto. It’s small in comparison to other castles because it was built with the help of the local villagers. These villagers were rebels against their masters for mistreatment and Murumoto was a ronin who joined them. He swore to be a different master if they help him build a castle, one who appreciates the lower-class citizens. And so they did, calling themselves the Night Owl Clan.

She was an orphan and lived in poverty as a young girl. No one wanted her and everyone constantly gave her the cold shoulder. One day she found a hidden village in the woods and found a sobbing man by a river. She was adopted by that man to be his student, a widow ronin who lived in seclusion. Raised by the samurai and the villagers, she learned both bushido and ninjitsu, and by the age of 25 she was a fully trained kunoichi/onna-bugeisha.

He is a dark spirit of destruction that’s been locked away in the Forbidden Black Mountain, there he dwells waiting for an unfortunate individual to be captured by his ghostly shadow minions, for he had no true physical form and needed a host. Only a human born suffering would do. On a blood moon night he has found his victim, Izumi, but her soul has not yet suffered true loss, so he sent out a small army of creatures he had made over the last few hundred years to destroy what she held dear, her clan and master.
